Long Island-born, LA-based painter and printmaker Anne McCaddon says her limited edition seasonal collections of jackets, shirts, and dresses are an extension of her art practice. “Every coat uses the same original drafted pattern, but explores different combinations of fabrics and trim,” she told an interviewer. “I treat them like three-dimensional collages, and because each coat is one of a kind, they are titled and/or numbered in a series.”
Tracing commonalities in textile patterns, style, and mood from Africa and India to Japan and back home, Anne’s pieces are cultural commentary, valuable resources, and wonderfully wearable basics.
